Gracie's gifts!

Hello everyone!
I just realised that I never showed you what Gracie got me for my name day! (post)
Shame on me >_<
So here check them out:
She got me these cute giraffe earrings which I love!
I thought long earrings like that didn't suit me at all but I was wrong. I  wear these all the time now.
She also got me the sweater :D
It's SO cool! Like really cool haha
AND the bag! I don't know if you can see it but it has comic strips on it :D
So yay!

The weird thing that I just realised is that the shorts and the shoes I'm wearing are my mother's gifts for my birthday.
So I'm happy that my family and friends have great taste!
hehe

Thank you Gracie for the amazing gifts! I'm so very happy, you can't even imagine! :D
I know you are all jealous that I have such an awesome friend!

So yeah, what's your favourite gift of all time??

Museum Day

Today was the last day of the exhibition of Antikythera Shipwreck by Athens National Archaeological Museum and it was my last opportunity to admire sculptures and luxurious items, ceramic, glass and bronze vessels, coins, jewelry, parts of a bed and parts of the shipwreck itself.

Here you can see some parts of bodies that have been destroyed in the sea.
body parts, statues

The wreck is dated at approximately 60-50 BC and  It was discovered by sponge divers off Point
Glyphadia on the Greek island Antikythera. Many of the statues were partly destroyed.
But still their details look amazing.
As you can see the one side of the face is almost ruined but the other half is untouched by time.
I captured the same statues with different views so you can have a clearer image of the creation.

The most important discovery of the shipwreck was the world's oldest known analog computer, the Antikythera Mechanism! This ancient mechanism was designed to calculate astronomical positions.

It was an amazing day and I really enjoyed learning the Greek history :) Have you been lately in an interesting exhibition?

Bleaching: Doing it Wrong!

Hello everyone!
Do you remember (about a month ago) when Gracie tried to dye her hair pink and they turned out red?
Ahhh the memories. (post here)
We made lots of mistakes during that process and we decided to make a post about how stupid we were so you guys know what NOT to do when bleaching your hair and dying them a semi-permanent color.

First mistake!
Don't dye the roots first!
Huge HUGE mistake if you want to bleach all your hair! Roots need just 10-15 min to bleach  while rest of the hair take about 50 min.

Second mistake!
Don't start from the front! The hair at the back of your head are stronger thus it will take longer to bleach them. So always start from the back.

See how horrible they turned out? And she had Virgin hair!
Another mistake is that we used a lightener without ammonia instead of bleach.
Just use bleach people!

Third mistake!
Don't slap the semi-permanent dye like that. NO! The result was lots of uncolored along with of several big chunks of hair. What we learned later on was that semi-permanent dye for some weird reason won't transfer to the rest of the hair even if you massage it like crazy (or brush it or whatever) It just sticks to where you put it.

Here we already know we failed. And decided to just dye the hair pink. Don't overestimate your powers. Just do the process slowly. Separate the hair and take your time.
Results!
You see it now right??
How the bottom of the hair at the back are almost uncolored and how uneven the result was. Only the roots on top of the head and the thin front hair were able to hold some pink color.

So there you have it. Second time we tried bleaching it took almost 6 hours. But it was done right and it was worth it.

If you have any questions about bleaching or dying your hair pink just ask us. We are no professionals but professionals can't do it better either (speaking from experience)
Do you have a failed hair color/haircut story?

Daphne's Name Day

Hello everyone!
Today I went for special mission called shopping!
No no I didn't get anything for myself but I got a present for Daphne (you know the one with the pink hair which is co-owner of this blog) because last week was her name day!
I'm not gonna show you the gift (duuuuh)
but this is a photo of me in a store.
I really hate shopping alone and I went in many stores to find her a cute present!
I loved this store but I couldn't choose a dress without her trying it.
so no it's not a dress!
oh and this is the bag of her present :D
I erased from the photo the brand so she won't have any clue.
Anyway you should know that Daphne's name day was last Sunday but I couldn't find anything to get her on time.
Now that she'll get her present
I want all of you to wish her
HAPPY NAME DAY !

Leopard outfit post

Hello everyone,
it's been a while since I last posted an outfit. Several reasons for this:
1)I forget my camera
2)I look terrible in photos
3)If I look nice something else will look bad (like my hair)
4)If everything works well I forget to upload them

So as u can see I struggle a lot with this kind of stuff.
To the post
I recently got this amazing pants that I LOVE. I was so happy wearing them. They are like pyjamas that you can wear out in public. And if you know me you would know comfort is my fashion style.
I paired them with lots of leopard stuff I have around in the house. Because leopard is cool.
And I uploaded it on lookbook (hooray!):

So since I like the pants so much, I decided to copy the design and make several pants of my own. I already made a pair.
So the question is!
Would you like a tutorial on these awesome pants?

Pin Curls

Hello everyone :)
Today I was relaxing at home and I decided that I wanted to try pin curls!
So in the pictures you will see me with no make up on and wearing my hello kitty pyjamas.
This is my first time although I've seen a lot of videos about pin curls.
The result is not perfect but I think it's pretty descent if you consider that this is my first try!
I was really amazed that it was so easy!
It's so weird that my hair seem to be a different color in every picture.
As you can see I did a huge mistake and I forgot to curl every strand in the same direction.
Also this is how my hair looked from the back.
To be honest I preferred the process look than the outcome :)
Anyway this is the final look.
Have you ever tried pin curls? :)

How to bleach your hair

Hello everyone, as you know we have dyed our hair pink! To do so we had to bleach our hair from dark red to light blonde.  In this post we are going to show you the process :) First of all here is the final result:  Section your hair and tie them up. This is really important if you are not experienced!

before pictures here and here
Always start the process from the back of your head as your hair are thicker and as a result it's harder to lighten them. Don't apply bleach to the whole strand. Leave 1 inch of the roots and 1 inch from the ends uncovered!
After 10 minutes apply the mixture to the ends and 10-15 minutes before the end of the process quickly apply to the roots if you want an even result. The heat of your scalp will accelerate the process so they don't need more time.
Here you can see the results! We are not experienced in doing the process quickly so we did in steps.
Notice Daphne's hair (on the right) was bright red dyed with feria that's why they turned bright pink/red.
You can see it better here:

Notes:
  • We are not professionals in any way, but we did a lot of research before doing this so feel free to ask us any questions.
  • We used 30-35 vol bleach and left it on for 50 min.
  • We dyed the hair pink twice to get the final result with directions dark tulip extremely dilluted with conditioner.
